Office Supplies to buy at Dollar Tree That’ll Make You Feel BOSS

Ahh, Dollar Tree. I spend way too much time in there when I go. There’s no questioning how much anything is. You just go, pick out what you need/want and go. Art and home office supplies can get expensive, but not if you go to the dollar store. If you are some kind of artist/creator looking to not spend every dollar in your bank account, you can get a lot for not much money. Here are some of my past purchases that will make your studio feel more professional.

Mesh Pencil Cups

I have several of these around my studio. I have one for pencils/pens/scissors rulers, one for paint brushes and one for markers.

Short Mesh Cups 

These are great for a lot of reasons. When I bought my Tecre button maker, I just kept reaching in big bags to get all the parts to put it together. I put the button parts in these little cups now, and they are much easier to grab instead of reaching into bags. I also have a cup next to me that holds my little supplies like white out tape, an eraser, and of course chapstick!

Business Card Holder

If you are going to sell at anyplace or promote yourself, you can get one of these for a good deal!

A Small White Notepad

I used to buy these at CVS for about $3 each. I found recently that Dollar Tree has them and they are just as good. 150 pages. I use this to sketch out thumbnails for my comic, and sometimes use to jot down ideas or little sketches on the spot.

Cute Notepads

Getting a little notepad in the shape of ice cream or with flowers all over it… whatever design you fall in love with can be used not only to take notes, but also give your space a more personalized feel.

Sticky Notes

I am the self-proclaimed sticky note queen. I like having bright colored memos that I can stick wherever I want. Makes you feel boss too. ;D 

Calendar

They have a few different calendars of different designs and styles. I have a mini one that has a notepad on the bottom to note anything I want to accomplish for the month.

Scissors

I probably buy a pair each trip I make because for some odd reason I keep losing them.

Shipping Supplies

If you are going to be selling and shipping items from your home, you can find envelopes, bubble mailer and other packing items here!

Fabric Bins

They sell these in different sizes now. I get the sizes that fit in storage cubes I have. Unfortunately they only have brown and beige, maybe eventually they will get more colors in! Still a good deal for only a dollar!

Paperclips/Pushpins/Magnets

Dollar tree has more choices in colors and designs than years ago. Get ones that would go with the rest of your home office and decor!

Extra Tip

Don’t like the color of the metal pencil cups, small cups or business card holder? Get a can of spray paint in the color you want! You can spray them all the same color to go with your home office theme!
